Snoop Dogg will debut a custom set of Skechers high-top sneakers while in Paris as an official NBC commentator and an official torchbearer at the Olympic Games. The Skechers x Snoop Dogg design team created the five-piece collection exclusively for Snoop to wear during the games.
Each pair has unique “Easter eggs” on them that pay homage to the D-O-Double-G and the games’ host city of Paris.
Since his appearance in the Skechers 2023 Big Game campaign and the introduction of his Skechers x Snoop Dogg collaboration in August last year, the rapper and entrepreneur has expanded his namesake footwear collection with Skechers to include sneakers and lifestyle shoes for men and women, performance basketball shoes and other categories.
For the opening ceremony and throughout the games, Snoop be wearing the one-of-a-kind Skecher leather high-tops, shown above.
“I only compete with myself,” said Snoop Dogg during a meeting at Skechers offices. The slogan is printed on the bottom of each shoe across a running track. Each pair also includes the Skechers x Snoop Dogg logo; however, these shoes have them across the colors of the French flag, honoring the 2024 Olympics host country. The gold heel clips on four pairs boast a paisley print.
Two of Snoop’s custom pairs draw inspiration from the Doggybonez high-top silhouette, part of the Skechers x Snoop Dogg collaboration. Made available to Snoop in all-white and French red, white and blue colorways, designers replaced the Doggybonez logo with one created for the games. This includes replacing Snoop Dogg’s birth year (1971) with 2024 and his Doberman for the Eiffel Tower.
To pay homage to Snoop and the games, the Skechers team also designed a pair picturing Snoop’s likeness and the word “Paris” written in graffiti font.
The third high-top display’s Snoop’s favored paisley design across the leather upper, but in the colors depicting the Olympic rings. “Easter eggs” abound in the five styles, including the medal-themed gold, silver and bronze touches on and around the laces, with Snoop reaching for gold on his caricature pair.
Snoop Dogg will also wear an all-gold pair of kicks made from snake-embossed gold leather. The high-top style is emblazoned with Snoop’s Paris-inspired logo, sitting atop a ribbon in the colors of the French flag. This pair also sports gold-colored laces, a paisley heel clip and Snoop Dogg’s standard “S” logo around the shoe’s outsole.
